All living creatures need love, kindness and friendship

YEEHAAA is a Founding Member of Arenas for Change (ARCH, (20+) Arenas for Change - ARCH | Facebook) ARCH has great resources, a connection with diversity, a gathering of professionalism, and demonstrates a value (specialization) in high standards. ARCH works with all living creatures bringing new ideas and creativity. The story below brings that unique friendship into perspective.

In ARCH Community Calls, we bring new ideas and how each of us develops and grows each and every day. I came across a conversation that did just that. This is a story where all living creatures connect in a unique role that enriches a deeper insight cultivating ARCH values.

Friendship: A Loving Bond
I was talking to Yuli about the YEEHAAA program where students do activities with horses. How the curriculum intertwines with teacher’s subject matter to reduce bullying and suicide (bullycide) to create a safer school environment. It brings a connection between teacher-to-student and student-to-student to develop empathy and empowerment to strengthen the student’s personal growth and wellbeing. As we talked, Yuli told her story about her special friend that means everything to her.
Yuli talked about how allergic she was to cats and dogs. Yuli wanted someone to bond with but really had to think about what type of a pet she could have. Thinking about it, Yuli selected a fish that she could feed, care for, and bond with. She went to a pet store and purchased a beta fish.
A couple of months went by, and all of a sudden the fish died! She didn’t understand why that happened. Yuli purchased another beta fish, but in a couple of months that beta fish died. Yuli became emotionally shocked about what was happening, frustrated, and depressed to think that she might be killing these fish, and didn’t know what was going on.
Yuli decided to see what she could do to learn everything and anything about beta fishes (health, social interactions, feelings, and happiness). Studying all about beta’s, Yuli purchased a larger tank, a tunnel where bata’s can hide, and other health and wellness tips for a beta fish.
Here are two pictures Yuli sent, Opal as a baby and then as an adult. Opal is living a long healthy life with Yuli. Yuli and Opal are happy, content, and have a loving bond relationship.
What a wonderful story of accepting personal choice and connection. Bonding with another whether it’s a person, animal, fish, ducks, or any living creature brings healthy relationships in all aspects of life.
Thanks, Yuli for telling your story. This brings others closer to talk about their special relationships, love, kindness, and care for others, and that includes Opal too!

Student Workshop

Options for student creativity in a classroom setting:

Wild Heart Sanctuary (https://www.wild-heart-sanctuary.com/about-wildheartsanctuary)

Documentaries(https://www.wild-heart-sanctuary.com/horse-documentaries)

Mestengo: Wild Heart Sanctuary found Sonya Richins produced the documentary Mestengo, which was viewed at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival. It is passionate effort to clear the air and put all of the facts surrounding the wild American Mustang before the people of the world. The story of injustice will astound and infuriate you as the details unfold in vivid cinematography before your eyes. How did we let this happen?

Through it has been over a decade, the film's message is still the same, just the numbers have changed. As of 2013 there were over 50,000 wild Mustangs in government holding pens and less then 20,000 running free in the wild.

Watch the trailer to the left, request the 20-minute documentary below. Learn about and feel the injustice, then act.

Healing Power of Horses: Sonya Richins has traveled across America filming footage of how horses are healing the human race. She has fined both the scientific and the unexplainable healing power of horses. Please view the rough cut to the left and discover the transformative gifts horses share with humans.

We are seeking funding for post-production to finish this documentary. The message is inspiring and will help garner support for saving the wild Mustangs.

If you are interested in providing funding and/or post-production facilities, please reach out to us on our Contact Us page.

The Horses Voice: The video clip is a teaser for a reality documentary series called The Horses Voice. We are seeking funding to continue its project with the goal of being picked up by a network for a weekly series.

The intent of the series is to visit a new horse and its caretaker each week along with an animal communicator to see what happens... very interesting, surprising, and entertaining. Turns out, horses have a lot to say!

Such a series would expose more people to magic of horses and, perhaps, get them interested in the ongoing brutal conditions those in the wild and in captivity suffer at the hands of humans.

Sixteen mustangs, four men, one dream: to ride border to border, Mexico to Canada, up the spine of the American West. The documentary tracks four fresh-out-of-college buddies as they take on wild mustangs to be their trusted mounts, and set out on the adventure of a lifetime. Their wildness of spirit, in both man and horse, is quickly dwarfed by the wilderness they must navigate: a 3000-mile gauntlet that is equally indescribable and unforgiving.

The Path of the Horse (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQUMAJCh1fA)

The Path of the Horse is the documentary I made while I was searching for ways to understand horses and work with them without using pain, coercion, or force.

Wild Horse Wild Ride (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RX28swUzD-U)

Each year, the Extreme Mustang Makeover Challenge sees 100 people from across the country attempt to tame a wild mustang in 100 days. Following this harrowing feat is a public showcase that determines whether these horses can be saved from a life in captivity.

Ending this year's Inspiration for 2020-2021

YEEHAAA's staff and all of the volunteers have made this a memorable year. To end the school year a couple of inspiring books and poems.

PERCEPTION

Perception comes

         through clouded skies

         and tiny drops of rain.

         First,

              the shower;

                                                                      Then,

                                                                                 the sun.

                                                                       Then, the rainbow

                                                                                    guides

                                                                         where we're going

                                                                         from where we've been.

“Let me hold

the door for you.

I may have

never walked

in your shoes,

but I can see

your soles are worn,

your strength is torn

under the weight of a story

I have never lived before.

Let me hold the door for you.

After all you have walked through,

It is the least I can do.”

Courage to do hard things...

Self-Awareness
boundaries, and boundaries of others...

How hard is it to set boundaries?

Why is it important to honor another person's boundary?

Why is it important to set boundaries, and required your boundary to be honored?
